Westminster Veterinary Group is seeking a compassionate, skilled Associate DVM to join our team in providing exceptional veterinary care. We are dedicated to quality health care delivered with the highest levels of compassion, integrity and service for pets and their owners.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to practice advanced medicine on a diverse range of species, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, exotic mammals and more. Several of our doctors are considered worldwide experts in exotic animal medicine and surgery. We are seeking a Part Time or Full Time Associate with specialized skills in exotic pet care or a general practitioner passionate about expanding their knowledge in this area.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • Supports excellence in client experience
  • Works collaboratively with HM and Medical Director
  • Practices high quality, gold standard medicine 
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat animals brought into the veterinary clinic/hospital for medical care
  • Perform surgical procedures as needed, including routine spay/neuter operations as well as more complex surgeries
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and preventative care plans
  • Counsel pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and overall wellbeing
  • Interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, blood work, etc. and develop treatment plans
  • Assist in emergencies and provide urgent/critical care when needed
  • Stay up-to-date on new veterinary techniques, medications, and best practices

Competencies And Experience

  • Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of CA
  • 2+ years of clinical experience, preferred 
  • New grads with internship in exotics considered!
  • Strong clinical skills and sound medical judgment
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Time-management and delegation abilities
  • Exercises sound judgement and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills
  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with others
