Hamilton Animal Hospital is looking for an Associate DVM to join our team! Hamilton is a newly updated general practice animal hospital. Our multi-doctor practice provides a bond-centered environment that is exciting, fast-paced, and professionally challenging while keeping the service to our clients and their pets at the center of our focus. Our team is looking for a DVM that can support us Thursday-Saturday.

Equipment Perks

We recently updated our hospital equipment which includes an ultrasound, dopplers, a dental machine and x-ray unit, in house laboratory analyzers, and radiology unit. We also partner with a certified mobile cardiologist and internist who can assist with patients as needed.

Huntington Beach is a beautiful seaside town in Southern CA that is centered in between LA and Orange County, making it easy to commute to major attractions. Our hospital is situated right behind a several mile long bike path that borders the ocean and a natural stream. It's not uncommon for our teammates to utilize this path during their breaks!

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Supports excellence in client experience
  • Works collaboratively with HM and Medical Director
  • Practices high quality, gold standard medicine 
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat animals brought into the veterinary clinic/hospital for medical care
  • Perform surgical procedures as needed, including routine spay/neuter operations as well as more complex surgeries
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and preventative care plans
  • Counsel pet owners on animal health, nutrition, behavior, and overall wellbeing
  • Interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, blood work, etc. and develop treatment plans
  • Maintain comprehensive patient medical records and documentation
  • Assist in emergencies and provide urgent/critical care when needed

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1 year of clinical experience
  • Experienced with surgical and dental procedures
  • Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of California
  • Strong clinical skills and sound medical judgment
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Time-management and delegation abilities
  • Exercises sound judgment and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills
  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with others
